Compensation chain and compensation rope
The forms of compensation devices mainly include compensation chain and compensation rope. The compensation chain is further subdivided into rope-threaded compensation chain, plastic-coated compensation chain and all-plastic compensation chain.
Compensation chain:
Rope-threaded compensation chain: Commonly used in elevators with a rated speed not exceeding 1.6m/s, the noise generated by friction and collision between chain links during operation is reduced by inserting hemp rope into the iron chain.
Plastic-coated compensation chain: On the basis of rope-threaded compensation chain, a layer of composite PVC plastic is wrapped outside to reduce noise and slow down environmental corrosion to the iron chain. Suitable for elevators with an ambient temperature of -15~+60℃ and a rated speed of no more than 1.75m/s.
All-plastic compensation chain: It is made of a combination of electric welding anchor chain and PVC composite material. It has the characteristics of good elasticity, small bending radius, flame retardant, aging resistance, and a wide temperature adaptability range. It is suitable for medium and high-speed elevators with an ambient temperature of -15~+60℃ and a rated speed of no more than 2.5m/s.
Compensation rope: Commonly used in high-speed elevators, especially in cases where the vibration and airflow generated during elevator operation are strong, to prevent the compensation chain from swinging and causing danger. Since the wire rope cannot be tensioned by its own weight when it sags naturally, a tensioning wheel is required to prevent the compensation rope from swinging and causing danger.
The design and selection of these compensation devices depends on the operating speed and environmental conditions of the elevator to ensure smooth and safe operation of the elevator.
