02.What's the difference between heat shrink tubing and cold shrink tubing?

  • Heat shrink tubing is usually made of thermoplastic polyolefin. After heating, it shrinks to its original size and is wrapped around cables or joints. It is commonly used for cable joints, insulation and protection. Installation requires the use of a hot air gun or other heating tools.
  • Cold shrink tubing is usually made of elastic polymers. Used at room temperature, the sleeve itself is pre-stretched and loosened during installation to return to its original shape. It is mostly used for the sealing protection of cable terminals and joints. No heating is required. Just put it on directly. The installation is more convenient.
