Heat-Shrink Semi-conductive Tubing features a specialized semi-conductive material integrated into either its inner or outer layer. Unlike standard heat-shrink sleeves, its primary purpose is not electrical insulation. Instead, Heat-Shrink Semi-conductive Tubing leverages its unique semi-conductive properties to equalize electrical stress, eliminate partial corona discharges, and provide critical shielding protection. This makes it an indispensable component in the engineering and installation of medium- and high-voltage power cable joints.
Working Principle

Working Principle
At the connection points of high-voltage cable joints, the electrical field naturally becomes highly concentrated and non-uniform, leaving the system highly susceptible to corona discharge. Over time, these localized discharges can degrade the surrounding insulation and cause critical system faults.
Because the resistivity of this semi-conductive layer bridges the gap between a true conductor and a true insulator, it smoothly transitions the electric field gradient. By preventing electric field distortion and effectively suppressing partial discharge, it safeguards the insulation and ensures the long-term, stable operation of the power line.
