- Product Introduction
The voltage range of the heat shrink cable center coupling includes 1kV, 10kV, 20kV, 35kV, and it is a straight-through joint for connecting cables. It is applicable to cross-linked polyethylene power cables of 1 core, 2 core, 3 core, 4 core and 5 core.
They provide tight insulation, sealing, and protection by shrinking upon application of heat, thereby restoring the cable's continuity and integrity.
Main components:
Internal Connector (Conductive Tube):
It is used to clamp and connect the conductors of the cables to be joined, ensuring electrical continuity and sufficient mechanical strength.
Heat-Shrinkable Outer Sleeve:
This is the main insulating and sealing part. It shrinks radially and uniformly upon heating (typically with a 3:1 or 4:1 shrink ratio), forming a tight seal around the joint.
Hot-Melt Adhesive:
Pre-coated on the inner wall of the sleeve. It melts upon heating, filling all gaps, and forms a complete seal upon cooling, effectively preventing moisture and water ingress.
Stress Control Component (for medium/high voltage applications):
Some designs incorporate stress cones or use heat-shrink materials with stress control functionality to evenly distribute the electric field at the cable joint interface, preventing partial discharges.

Installation Guide:
1. Preparation: Strip the cable insulation to expose the conductors.
2. Crimping Connection: Insert the cable conductors into the internal connector and crimp using a hydraulic compression tool or mechanical tool.
3. Surface Cleaning: Thoroughly wipe the insulation surface with a cleaning agent.
4. Positioning & Installation: Slide the heat-shrink sleeve over the joint, ensuring it is centered.
5. Heating & Shrinking: Apply heat evenly and slowly from the middle towards the ends or from one end to the other, until the sleeve shrinks uniformly and the adhesive flows out noticeably.
6. Cooling & Inspection: Allow to cool naturally, then inspect the seal and overall appearance for integrity.
