Split Phase compensation non-contact switch is a fast capacitive contactless switch that can be used to connect power capacitive loads to the power grid. It is designed for applications that require switchgear and control equipment. It can achieve a fast switching (up to 14%) step compensation system for pure capacitance or reactance.
Working principle:
Capacitive Non-contact Switch: Its control board precisely calculates the instantaneous grid voltage and the voltage across the capacitor. It triggers the thyristor to turn on or off at the exact moment when these two voltages are equal in instantaneous value and phase (the "zero-crossing" point).
When Switching ON: The voltage difference is zero, theoretically resulting in zero inrush current.
When Switching OFF: The current naturally turns off at zero-crossing, with no arcing.
Thus achieving smooth switching characterized by "No Inrush, No Arcing."

Core Components
It is not a single component but rather a functional module or assembly, usually integrated from the following parts:
1. Core Switching Element: Anti-parallel connected thyristors (SCRs / Thyristors) or more advanced thyristor modules (such as TSC modules). This is key to being "non-contact" – conduction is triggered by a gate signal and natural turn-off occurs at current zero-crossing.
2. Synchronous Trigger Control Board:It monitors the phase of the grid voltage and current in real-time, ensuring precise triggering of the thyristors exactly at the moment of voltage and current zero-crossing to achieve "zero-crossing switching."
3. Protection Circuitry: Includes RC Snubber Circuits (to suppress surge voltage and current), Heat Sinks and Fans (for high-power applications), Fault Detection Circuits, etc.
4. Driver and Signal Isolation: Receives switching commands from the reactive power compensation controller (like the one mentioned earlier) and provides electrical isolation and signal amplification.
