China's May Labor Day
May 01, 2026| International Workers' Day originated from the workers' movement fighting for reasonable working hours. Officially recognized worldwide, the festival honors the efforts and contributions of all laborers.
In China, May Day was established as a statutory holiday after the founding of the People's Republic of China. It is now celebrated with a 5-days holiday. Various activities such as labor model commendations and skill competitions are held to advocate the spirit of dedication and craftsmanship.
