Compared with decentralized installation on the load side, busbar-side installation has advantages such as a simpler system structure and convenient management and maintenance. It is particularly suitable for power distribution environments where the load changes are relatively stable.

II. Technical Features of Installation on Busbar Side

When installing self-healing low-voltage parallel capacitors on the busbar side, several technical factors need to be considered. The rated voltage of the capacitor should match the operating voltage of the busbar and should have sufficient overvoltage tolerance. The installation location should be selected in the section with a larger short-circuit capacity of the busbar to ensure that the inrush current generated when the capacitor is switched on or off will not cause an impact on the system.

III. Comparative Analysis of Installation Methods

Compared with the installation on the load side, the self-healing low-voltage parallel capacitor installed on the busbar has different application characteristics. The installation on the busbar can simplify the system structure, reduce the number of compensation devices, and lower the initial investment cost, and is particularly suitable for scenarios where the load is relatively concentrated. However, this installation method is more sensitive to system harmonics. When the busbar has a large harmonic content, it may cause the capacitor to operate under overload conditions.
